Yoga Asanas
Yoga means union, yoking body and mind together, resulting in focus on the present moment where breath and body movements are synchronized. Thus, practicing yoga asanas in itself is meditation.
“Yoga takes you into the present moment, the only place where life exists.” – Patanjali

Each of the energy centers (chakras) in the body is connected to one or more endocrine glands. The chakras need to be in a balanced state for the endocrine glands to function to their fullest potential. Our chakras could be overactive or underactive and spin out of balance due to many reasons:
- Emotional upset
- Unresolved anger
- Fear and stress
- Negative or obsessive thoughts
- Unexpressed or repressed emotions
- Past experiences that we haven’t dealt with and released
If one of the chakras is blocked due to any of the above or other reasons, then energy flow to the rest of the chakras is limited, just as how with a hose that is leaking, or is blocked by a twist, water flow to the plant gets restricted.
A regular practice of yoga asanas, especially in conjunction with breathwork helps to keep our chakras in balance. Therefore, not only do we remain flexible, but also illness-free. The more flexible our spine is, the younger we are.
Breathwork
Anulom vilom {alternate nostril breathing),
kapaal bhaathi (skull breathing),
brahmari pranayam (bee breathing),
sheethali pranayam (breathing through vertically rolled tongue) and
sheethkari pranayam (breathing through horizontally curled up tongue or closed teeth)
are some of the yogic breathing techniques that help our body and mind stay healthy.
Meditation
“Yoga is the control of the mind.” – Patanjali
Meditation helps to focus our mind on a single point, thus enjoy the present moment of calm. Meditations can be customized for different purposes, and therefore can offer incredible benefits for the mind and spirit.
When combined with intention, yoga asanas, breathwork and meditation help to release any and all energy blocks, prevent dis-ease, and raise our vibrational frequency. Thus, we stay grounded, calm and peaceful.
I offer a variety of Hatta yoga asanas to help with various ailments/illnesses in the physical body, as well as a variety of meditations.
